I can't quite believe it's been 13 years since the publication of Goodnight Digger!

I still receive regular messages from parents and grandparents who are introducing their little ones to the series for the first time. We've said Goodnight to tractors, pirates, Santa, princesses and astronauts, and now two new additions to the series are on the way!

Look out for GOODNIGHT GRANDCHILD, which is available now, and for GOODNIGHT BIN LORRY (or, 'Goodnight Garbage Truck, depending on where you are in the world!) later this year. Both feature Nick East's gloriously dreamy artwork. There's plenty to point at and name while your little ones settle down for bed.

These books are a joy to dream up and craft. Thank you for continuing to make them part of your bedtime routines! ​

​What a whirlwind of a weekend! I was invited to take part in a wonderful event to celebrate Bedford's Year of Reading, organised by Bedford Borough Council.

Chris Morris and his excellent team put on a fantastic array of free family fun in their (blissfully air conditioned!) marquee at the Kite and Motoring Festival in Russell Park.

As well as listening to authors, enjoying crafts and taking part in story times, visitors were invited to become Book Fairies, selecting books to wrap in ribbon and hide around the park for people to find. What a delight! 

I'm now back at my desk in Nova Scotia, dreaming up fresh stories and silly shenanigans. Thanks for having me, Bedford! ❤️

I was fortunate enough to work with Tim Budgen a few years back on a very special project called Only One of Me. He's not only a very talented chap, but an extremely nice and kind-hearted one! I've been hoping to make more books with Tim ever since, and thanks to Scholastic, it's happening.
